Description (last modified by mf2k (Frank Schima))
Hi,
There seems to be a bug in the script for porting maxima. Here is the portion of the printout where the port halts:
---> Fetching sbcl ---> Attempting to fetch sbcl-1.0.29-source-r2.tar.bz2 from http://internap.dl.sourceforge.net/sbcl ---> Verifying checksum(s) for sbcl ---> Extracting sbcl ---> Applying patches to sbcl ---> Configuring sbcl ---> Building sbcl Error: Target org.macports.build returned: can't read "host_lisp": no such variable Error: The following dependencies failed to build: sbcl tk Xft2 xrender xorg-renderproto tcl xorg-libXScrnSaver xorg-libXext xorg-scrnsaverproto Error: Status 1 encountered during processing. JoanMacBookPro:~ JoanRoughgarden$ JoanMacBookPro:~ JoanRoughgarden$ sudo port install maxima Password: ---> Computing dependencies for maxima ---> Building sbcl Error: Target org.macports.build returned: can't read "host_lisp": no such variable Error: The following dependencies failed to build: sbcl tk Xft2 xrender xorg-renderproto tcl xorg-libXScrnSaver xorg-libXext xorg-scrnsaverproto Error: Status 1 encountered during processing. JoanMacBookPro:~ JoanRoughgarden$
I hope you can find the problem. Thanks so much. Sincerely, Joan Roughgarden San Francisco

I see a different error for sbcl.
I'm running 10.5.8 on a PowerPC G5.
$ sudo port install maxima Password: ---> Computing dependencies for maxima ---> Building sbcl Error: Target org.macports.build returned: shell command "unset LD_PREBIND && unset LD_PREBIND_ALLOW_OVERLAP && sh make.sh "/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_www.macports.org_files_ports_lang_sbcl/work/sbcl-1.0.22-powerpc-darwin/src/runtime/sbcl --core /opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_www.macports.org_files_ports_lang_sbcl/work/sbcl-1.0.22-powerpc-darwin/output/sbcl.core --disable-debugger --sysinit /dev/null --userinit /dev/null" " returned error 127 Command output: sh: make.sh: No such file or directory Error: The following dependencies failed to build: sbcl tk tcl xorg-libXScrnSaver xorg-scrnsaverproto Error: Status 1 encountered during processing.

I see what the original poster saw. Running Snow Leopard and reinstalled MacPorts from scratch a few weeks ago.

I'm seeing something different today.

I'm experiencing the problem reported at the beginning too. Is there any workaround?

I see the following:
---> Building sbcl Error: Target org.macports.build returned: can't read "host_lisp": no such variable Error: The following dependencies failed to build: sbcl tk Xft2 xrender xorg-renderproto tcl xorg-libXScrnSaver xorg-libXext xorg-scrnsaverproto Error: Status 1 encountered during processing.
(first time MacPorts user, clean install using pkg on Snow Leopard)

Presumably you are on Snow Leopard. The port was fixed to work on Snow Leopard in r61938.

Command output: sh: make.sh: No such file or directory
Please clean sbcl and try again.
sudo port clean sbcl sudo port install sbcl
If you see the problem again, please file a new ticket. It is not related to the issue originally reported in this ticket.
