Hello, attached is a diff which updates to 2.29.1, and also changes te following ( which I hope will be ok :-):
- removed port:gtk-doc from depends_build, as this is only necessary ig --enable-gtk-doc is specified.
- Added port:gtk2 to depends_lib.
- Added a variant for enabling the python bindings, and set this as default.
- Added a variant for disabling gconf.
- Removed --disable-gtk-immodules, as this option no longer exists.
- Removed the scrollkeeper line from post-activate, as this is already handled by --disable-scrollkeeper.

Does gucharmap.diff look okay?
Also, I got a funky configure error: No package 'pygtk-2.0' found. Any ideas why pkg-config didn't find it?

2.29 is an unstable release series as per gnome convention. Updated to 2.30.1 in r68350.

I would suggest not using default variants.
I'll invert the pybindings variant and post a new diff for viewing.
