MacPorts includes fontforge 20090622, however a newer version of fontforge, 20090923, is available. This version fixes at least one severe bug in fontforge (the "Expand Stroke" dialog becomes unresponsive after the first time it is used). It would be extremely helpful to have an updated version of fontforge in MacPorts. I would do it myself but I do not know the first thing about MacPorts.
