Have you selfupdate'd recently? xorg-fixesproto is currently 4.1.1:

$ port info xorg-fixesproto
xorg-fixesproto @4.1.1 (x11, devel)
...

Replying to paul.belt@…:

Requested 'fixesproto >= 4.1' but version of FixesProto is 4.0

Also depends on: Requested 'applewmproto >= 1.4' but version of AppleWMProto is 1.2.0 Requested 'applewm >= 1.4' but version of AppleWM is 1.2.0

Fix: port install xorg-fixesproto xorg-applewmproto xorg-libAppleWM

I believe this is a missing version number in the port-definition file for xorg-server.

As mentioned by blb, you just need to update. The versions in the tree are up to date.

Do this:

sudo port -v selfupdate
sudo port -v -p upgrade outdated
sudo port -v install xorg-server

None of those flags make any sense.
