Description
I have attempted to install MacPorts 1.8.1 in Snow Leopard so that I can install KMyMoney. However the folder /opt/local/bin only contain Unix executable files and does not contain the portslocation folder (and hence the dports folder does not exist either). Why? What do I do now?

/opt/local/bin only containing executables is correct. I don't know what you mean by "the portslocation folder", but dports is under /opt/local/var/macports/sources by default. See
man porthier
