gcc 4.4.3 is out. http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-4.4/changes.html#4.4.3 Macports currently has 4.4.2
Can we get the gcc44 port updated to the latest and greatest?

unfortunately version 4.4.3 is not so great: It does not build on my system (10.6.2) -- patches welcome!

updated in r63404 -- seems as if --enable-stage1-checking makes the difference
