redland-bindings installs nonsense if I don't specify any variants

Description

If I don't specify any variants, redland-bindings installs (nothing), then fails to activate. See attached output.

If it doesn't make sense to install redland-bindings without specifying any variant, then please prevent me from doing so and print an error message to that effect.
