Ruby installation error on macbookpro

I just install port on my macbookpro and I tried to use port to install ruby but its giving some error. Here below is the complaining error copied and pasted here.

Error: Unable to execute port: can't read "build.cmd": Failed to locate 'make' in path: '/opt/local/bin:/opt/local/sbin:/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin' or at its MacPorts configuration time location, did you move it? To report a bug, see <​http://guide.macports.org/#project.tickets>

So please can you help me out?

Please read the installation instructions?. You need to install Xcode.
