The patch looks good, but did you try building it? I get an error very late in building:

After totally cleaning out my ports tree and trying again, I only get a slightly different error (see attached). I apologize if this is just a problem with my installation, but I'm hesitant to commit the change until others can confirm that your patch produces no bad behaviors.

Other things started behaving oddly so I reinstalled the OS. Your proposed changes build and install fine now.
Fixed in r65179.
