fetch of hdf5-1.8.4-patch1.tar.bz2 is failing.

I just tried and it downloaded fine from ​ftp://ftp.hdfgroup.org/HDF5/current/src/. Maybe this was a transient problem, can you try again?

Yes it works...
I don't know where was the problem. you can close the ticket.
