Description (last modified by jmroot (Joshua Root))
I get the following errors trying to install PearPC 0.4_1 on a Mac OS X 10.6.2 Server OS. I really need to use this software to run Mac OS X 10.4 to run Kurzweil licensing software, which requires Mac OS X 10.4.

Do you have Xcode installed as per http://www.macports.org/install.php#requirements? If so, please attach the config.log.

I have never succeeded in running any version of PearPC on any version of Mac OS X, and the PearPC project has been dead for years. I would not get your hopes up that this will ever work for you.

Sorry, no, I originally didn't have Xcode installed, but downloaded/installed version 3.2.1 and still getting an error.
Where is the config.log stored? If you can comment back the path I will include it.
Here is the error I am getting with Xcode 3.2.1 installed...

The config.log will be within the directory identified by the command "port work pearpc
". However, as I explained, I've never seen pearpc work on Mac OS X, ever. If you want to get it to work, you should communicate with the developers of PearPC; they are the only ones who have a hope of making their software work. However, since they have not posted a news entry or a new version of their software since December 2005, I would consider this software dead. We should probably remove the port.
The only software I'm aware of for running Mac OS X virtualized on Mac OS X is VMware Fusion and Parallels Desktop, but both will only run Mac OS X 10.5 or later. If you need to run Mac OS X 10.4, you need to buy a physical Mac capable of running that version of Mac OS X.

VirtualBox 3.2 beta can also do it. It's slower than VMware right now; hopefully they'll speed it up.
