You should report this problem to the developers of Vine Server; the MacPorts packaging of Vine Server is not particularly special so I expect a non-MacPorts Vine Server would have the same problem.

I was hoping that others in the MacPorts community would have acknowledged and/or found either a workaround or a patch since the Sourceforge system somewhat hides the developers behind a web-based email forwarding system. I will look into trying to file a bug with them.

You probably should just file a bug report in the Vine Server issue tracker. Or you could try the Vine forum. The company that develops Vine Server is TestPlant; you could also contact TestPlant directly.

3.12 is now available, FYI. Couldn't find any release notes, but the corresponding client release says it added Snow Leopard support.

I am aware that newer binaries are available, but I am not able to locate any tag in the CVS repository (from which we get the source to build it) newer than 3.1. The aforementioned ticket has also not received any attention from the developers.

In r113174 the vineserver port has been updated to version 4.01 and for older systems a new vineserver3 subport has been created at version 3.12, if you want to check if this issue has been resolved.
