Description
When invoking a gimp plugin when running on xorg-server 1.7.6_1, the plugin dies and I get the debug message:
(file-png:12982): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: org.macports:0.0 (gimp:7917): LibGimpBase-WARNING **: gimp: gimp_wire_read(): error
gimp2 itself was launched from the terminal with DISPLAY=/tmp/launch-IZQrT0/org.macports:0

I've worked around the issue by adding org.macports to /etc/hosts as 127.0.0.1 and enabling networking access to X11, however, when the X server is quit and restarted, it runs on a different display than 0, and this workaround fails.

Does this still happen with the current versions (2.6.11/1.9.5)?

I can't reproduce this with the current versions as follows:
port installed gimp2 xorg-server The following ports are currently installed: gimp2 @2.6.11_7+python27 (active) xorg-server @1.11.1_0 (active)
Note: See
TracTickets for help on using
tickets.
Might I add that installing the gimp application bundle provided from http://www.gimp.org/macintosh/ provides a gimp that doesn't suffer from this issue.
