Description
Installing some ports (such as 'gimp2') result in installing many, many dependencies.
Some of these have special steps that you need to take. These are displayed on the screen, and scroll way up, and can be lost. Nothing calls attention to them at the end, and they are not stored anywhere in the MacPorts system for later review.

You can see the notes for a particular port with port notes <portname>
, though of course there's no way to know which ports have notes except to try them.
