Description
On a brand new MacPorts 1.9.0 beta 1 installation, installed from the disk image, on Snow Leopard 10.6.3 with Xcode 3.2.2, first thing I tried to do was selfupdate, and I got:
port registry doesn't exist at "/opt/local/var/macports/registry/registry.db" and couldn't write to this location while executing "registry::open $db_path" (procedure "mportinit" line 533) invoked from within "mportinit ui_options global_options global_variations"
mkdir /opt/local/var/macports/registry
fixed it.
