Description
I upgraded my zlib port, but that broke the things that depend on it which (strangely) linked to libz.1.2.1.dylib instead of libz.1.dylib (or just libz.dylib). I wanted to downgrade, but I absolutely could not figure out any way to do it. I eventually had to hack the Portfile to list the old version, so it could finally extract my previous installation from the packages dir.
I think an appropriate solution for this is to let the unarchive command take an optional version argument, so I could have simply done 'sudo port unarchive zlib 1.2.1_3' and then 'sudo port install zlib' and had it work.
