unable to fetch droppatch.tar.gz when trying to install swftools

When trying to install swftools, I get the following error:

I'm on Mac OS X version 10.5.8 and using macports version 1.6.
Also when I try to update macports I get the following error:
Error: /opt/local/bin/port: port selfupdate failed: Couldn't sync the ports tree: Synchronization the local ports tree failed doing rsync

You need to selfupdate and the real problem is that you cannot. Please read the FAQ about this. If you are still having problems, post to the Macports-Users mailing list. However, it will likely be easier to delete your old version of Macports and install the latest version fresh.
