xorg-libXP fails to build when installing grace

I am running OS 10.5.8. Install Macports 8/4, ran both 'port sync' and 'port upgrade autoconf', then tried to install grace: 

sudo port install grace

--->  Computing dependencies for grace
--->  Dependencies to be installed: openmotif xorg-libXp pdflib xpm
--->  Configuring xorg-libXp
Error: Target org.macports.configure returned: autoreconf failure: shell command failed
Log for xorg-libXp is at: /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_x11_xorg-libXp/main.log
Error: The following dependencies failed to build: openmotif xorg-libXp pdflib xpm
Error: Status 1 encountered during processing.

same error if I try to install xfig.

I have the same problem with building xorg-libXp on OS X 10.6.4. I attach the error log. I just installed a new MacPorts from scratch today.
