Did this actually work for you? For me it fails at the patch phase: 

can't find file to patch at input line 3
Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?

"Makefile.in" appears to have been renamed to "Makefile-full.in", and the patch needs to be updated too.

Status: assigned → closed

Proper update to 0.8.5b in r70980 including fixing the patchfile. Most of the patch, which dealt with adding support for DESTDIR, could be discarded as this is now in the upstream sources.
