It's an iBook G4 running 10.4.11 and has everything updated through OS X's system update. Xcode is also the latest 2.5 for the OS.
I wasn't able to do selfupdate at first with the old ports installed more than 2 years ago, so I reinstall macport 1.9.1 that overwrite whatever was there. Then I did a selfupade:
sudo port selfupdate ---> Updating the ports tree ---> Updating MacPorts base sources using rsync MacPorts base version 1.9.1 installed, MacPorts base version 1.9.1 downloaded. ---> MacPorts base is already the latest version
followed by
sudo port install openssh ---> Computing dependencies for openssh@Error: Internal error: port lookup failed: too many nested evaluations (infinite loop?) Error: Status 1 encountered during processing. To report a bug, see <http://guide.macports.org/#project.tickets>
