The direct cause seems to be this change in sbcl 1.0.43.

As a result I got this:

Odd thing is, I do have TeX and port upgrade sbcl still fails with this error even though PATH environment variable contains the path to the directory containing latex and the likes.

This should have been fixed with re-working of the html, pdf, and info variants (which occurred mainly in r73486 and r73024).

Please update to the latest SBCL and the reinstall.
