BUG: py-gtk2 and python23 malfunction

I have instaled python23 +readline and py-gtk When I try to do import gtk in python2.3 I get this error:

py-gtk is compiled with glade variant

does this problem still persist with python24?

py-gtk does not want to compile against python2.4 I installed python24 +readline uninstalled and then installed py-gtk2 +glade it activates python2.4 but when you look at package contents py-gtk is in python2.3 directory.

I could not find a way of getting py-gtk to work with python2.4
