Hello,

Are there any drawbacks involved in changing the git.url fields from, e.g., ​git://gitorious.org/dbusmenu/dbusmenu-qt.git to ​http://git.gitorious.org/dbusmenu/dbusmenu-qt.git?

The problem with the the ​git:// protocol is that it uses its own port (9418, if I am not mistaken), which is blocked in many corporate and university environments - so using ​git:// urls breaks MacPorts for a lot of users, I suppose.

If there are no drawbacks involved in using the ​http:// protocol, it might be a good idea to change the Portfiles to use ​http:// instead of ​git://.
