Description
I submitted a bug report upstream: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/721424
This is caused by -lX11 to be included by default in configure. I'm attaching a patch to go around the issue, until it is better fixed on the inkscape side.

AFAICT this report can be closed:
Inkscape 0.48.3.1 requires no more patches to build with variants +quartz +no_x11
