Description
Installation of kde fails with the failure of building kdenetwork3
Here is what I do and the results after a several of building
[sibanda@sibanda:~]$ sudo port install kde ---> Computing dependencies for kde ---> Dependencies to be installed: kdenetwork3 ---> Fetching kdenetwork3 ---> Verifying checksum(s) for kdenetwork3 ---> Extracting kdenetwork3 ---> Configuring kdenetwork3 ---> Building kdenetwork3 Error: Target org.macports.build returned: shell command failed (see log for details) Error: Failed to install kdenetwork3 Log for kdenetwork3 is at: /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_kde_kdenetwork3/main.log Error: The following dependencies were not installed: kdenetwork3 Error: Status 1 encountered during processing. To report a bug, see <http://guide.macports.org/#project.tickets> [sibanda@sibanda:~]$
and I attach the log file. Please note that I had installed kde before on this machine without problem... after some resent updates that I did a week ago a lot of things stopped working and I thought the solution was to clean up and do a fresh install but hey-ho! put myself in a lot of trouble...

I have tried all possibilities on this. Tried a fresh install after removing everything associated with macports that I had before and making sure there is nothing in /usr/local, also made sure the gnubin path is off and all that I can think of, and reading through various google references about the ld: symbol(s) not found error, I am thinking this might be associated with the qt3 lib that the lines below are trying to link....
I am just wondering what has changed since December 22 when I made the first installation successfully. I just had to re-install because I applied some updates which made a lot of things t stop working and thought a re-install of the entire system was the solution.
Now since I have been so dependent on this, my work has stalled for the past two weeks and seems there is no help coming through anytime soon!! troubled!
