Thanks! DBus notes helped. I guess a hint could be added to regexxer notes. :)

Looks like I cannot invalidate the bug myself. Sorry for the noise, but please consider what I suggested above.

If you didn't read the notes of dbus, why is it more likely you'd have read the notes of regexxer? :) Anyway, I don't think we want to duplicate the notes of dbus into the hundreds of ports that use dbus.

For some reason I did read the empty notes of that port I actually installed, but missed reading all the fetched dependencies. As one can see from the attached output, there are various warnings (xrandr, locale, gconf) besides the dbus/gconf error so it might not be that crystal clear to everyone.
Therefore I suggested adding a _hint_. I did not suggest duplicating the notes, which doesn't make much sense from maintainers' point of view. I'm rather suggesting that perhaps the whole notes system of MacPorts could be improved to somehow link notes of dependencies. Even though regexxer itself does not have any notes, it could mention that ports foo & bar (that are its dependencies) do have some important notes that one should read.
Have you started dbus precisely as described in its notes?
