Here is a patch which
- updates to 1.0.15, thereby negating whatever checksum error was happening before
- adds a universal variant and supports changing build_arch
- fixes the livecheck

Hello. I have tried to do a sudo port selfupdate and I have also cleaned up the sysvbanner with sudo port clean.
The ports three doesn't reflect the updated package for sysvbanner.

That's correct. For now the patch is only in this ticket. Now it's up to the port's maintainer, to whom this ticket is assigned, to evaluate the patch and commit it to the repository. If he doesn't do so within 72 hours, another committer can do so. Until then, you can download the patch and apply it manually; instructions are in the guide.

Hello. There are still some problems with the checksums from debian.org.
Portfile changed since last build; discarding previous state. ---> Fetching sysvbanner ---> Attempting to fetch sysvbanner_1.0.15.tar.gz from http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/s/sysvbanner ---> Verifying checksum(s) for sysvbanner Error: Checksum (sha1) mismatch for sysvbanner_1.0.15.tar.gz Error: Checksum (rmd160) mismatch for sysvbanner_1.0.15.tar.gz Error: Target org.macports.checksum returned: Unable to verify file checksums Log for sysvbanner is at: /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_sysutils_sysvbanner/main.log Error: Status 1 encountered during processing.

I am unable to reproduce this. The sysvbanner_1.0.15.tar.gz on ftp.debian.org appears not to have been modified since May 2009. What are the checksums of your sysvbanner_1.0.15.tar.gz? ("sudo port -d checksum sysvbanner
")

Unable to reproduce also. Closing this.
Works fine here. Per the FAQ entry on checksum failures, please indicate what server the bad file came from.
