OK, I finally remembered that calling
kbuildsycoca4
might solve the issue. And it did! :-)

When upgrading the port file I noticed that skrooge wouldn't start up properly anymore:
The displayed windows is without any function.
It looks like the "SKG GUI/Plugin" thing is the culprit. I haven't seen this before. Don't know what to do here.
