Description
I tried to install on my powerbook G4 with Mac OS 10.2.8 the darwinport "ethereal 0.10.10" with the command: #port install ethereal This fails with following message. (don't get confused of the label of the volume with "...OS X.3". The powerbook is running wiht OS 10.2.8, only the disk sapace on the partition was limited, so a logical link "ln -s .." was used to choose a bigger free partition.) I have checked the tree for the missing Makefile. The tree is incomplete. Only "/Volumes/Mac OS X.3/Users/darwinports/dports/textproc/libiconv/work" exists. The missing part is "..../libiconv-1.9.2/Makefile.in"
bash-2.05a# port install ethereal Error: reinplace: couldn't read file "/Volumes/Mac OS X.3/Users/darwinports/dports/textproc/libiconv/work/libiconv-1.9.2/Makefile.in": no such file or directory Error: Target com.apple.patch returned: reinplace failed Error: The following dependencies failed to build: glib2 gettext libiconv pkgconfig gtk2 atk libpng zlib pango Xft2 fontconfig expat freetype xrender render tiff jpeg libpcap openssl
By using the cmd #port install libiconv i got the same message of a missing Makefile for libiconv
How to overcome this behavior of the missing Makefile.in ? Can some one help me ?
many thanks in advance
This message was not written on the PowerBook, so the guess of the operating system was adjusted manually to Max OS X 10.2

because this is not a darwinbuild bug, i would like to close this bug description.
Many thanks to Eric Hall and KEvin van Fechten.
Please provide the output of "port -v -d install libiconv". Changing ownership to libiconv port owner.
