3.8.0 uses gtk2 while 3.10.0 is the first stable version to use gtk3. See home page.
I'm in the process of updating to 3.8.0 for now.

Well, now I'm confused. 3.8.0 is available here but 3.10.0 is available here and they appear to have been released at more or less the same time.
