qgis fails to install as follows, with python 2.6.1 already installed via macports:
$ sudo port install qgis ---> Computing dependencies for qgis ---> Extracting qgis Error: Qgis requires python. Error: Target org.macports.extract returned: Please select a python variant. Log for qgis is at: /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_gis_qgis/main.log Error: Status 1 encountered during processing.
