perl5.12 fails to build

After a clean and update,

sudo port selfupdate
sudo port clean outdated
sudo port upgrade outdated

I get

Works for me to build perl5.12 on 10.6.7. Have you tried:

sudo port clean perl5.12; sudo port build perl5.12

You might also try uninstalling perl5.8 first, just in case.
