dyld: Library not loaded: /opt/local/lib/libpng12.0.dylib Referenced from: /opt/local/bin/gimp Reason: image not found Trace/BPT trap
Error persists after upgrading gimp.

libpng was updated to version 1.4.x some time ago, at which point the revision of gimp2 was increased.
This should have resulted in rebuilding gimp2 so that it uses libpng14.dylib.
What versions of libpng and gimp2 do you have installed?
To check, run:
port installed gimp2 libpng

gimp2 needs to be rebuilt against the current libpng.
please update your ports and rebuild
sudo port selfupdate sudo port upgrade gimp2
Due to lack of response closing as invalid (not a port error)
