openmpi @1.5.3 +gcc45 +threads build failure - ar: Resource temporarily unavailable

I have not had any luck compiling openmpi. I even uninstalled everything and started from scratch with the same error. Any help would be appreciated.

Seems very similar to #27247. I have also the same problem with openmpi 1.5.4 +gcc44. As indicated in #27247, launching port install openmpi three times in a row finally succeeds.
