Description
With MacPorts-2.0.0-beta2-10.6-SnowLeopard, after a fresh install, I get a warning message about a missing macports user. Are there additional install steps needed beyond what the installer does?
$ sudo port mpkg gcc45 +universal Warning: configured user/group macports does not exist, will build as root ---> Computing dependencies for gcc45

However setting macportsuser to root does appear to work.

I installed using the installer inside the MacPorts-2.0.0-beta2-10.6-SnowLeopard dmg.

Could you check /var/log/install.log for any relevant errors from the package?

If I edit macportsuser in macports.conf to be my account, I still get the error.
