Hi,
Am not sure if there will be a stable soon, but why i want to have that is in, because of the unix socket support, plus a bug fix for segment faults with 5.3.

There must be a reason why the developers don't feel version 3.x is ready to be called "stable" yet. Can you discover from the developers what that reason is, and when 3.x will be stable?

In the absence of any information about why we shouldn't, we'll wait until php-memcache 3 is declared "stable" by its developers before updating the port.
Note: See
TracTickets for help on using
tickets.
3.0.6 is labeled as a beta version; in MacPorts we usually want to follow stable versions (unless none is available). Do you know if the 3.0.x branch will become stable anytime soon? I see 3.0.0 was way back in 2007-11-26.
