Description
Hello,
I've been trying to get this to work for a while, but after some debugging, the most helpful output I can get is the following:
sudo port install gperf Error: Requested variants "" do not match original selection "+universal". Please use the same variants again, perform 'port clean gperf' or specify the force option (-f). Error: Status 1 encountered during processing.
If I install from fresh, like this:
sudo port install gperf ---> Fetching archive for gperf ---> Attempting to fetch gperf-3.0.4_2.darwin_11.x86_64.tbz2 from http://packages.macports.org/gperf ---> Fetching gperf ---> Verifying checksum(s) for gperf ---> Extracting gperf ---> Applying patches to gperf ---> Configuring gperf ---> Building gperf ---> Staging gperf into destroot ---> Installing gperf @3.0.4_2 ---> Activating gperf @3.0.4_2 ---> Cleaning gperf
...it works fine, so presumably it's something to do with the universal binaries. I've seen a few other tickets related to this - unless this is something very strange I'm doing, could this be a general bug? I'm on a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro, with XCode 4.1 installed.
Thanks very much!
Will

You have a partially completed build of gperf. Do what the message says: either continue the build with the same variants it was started with, or clean.
