Description
The 10.6/x86_64 buildbot slave times out (no output for 20 minutes) building this port. I've had to make it just fail early for now.

This is a very odd problem.
I only see it on Snow Leopard, not later versions of OS X.
If I interrupt the hanging build and retry without cleaning, it immediately succeeds.
If I build outside of MacPorts, it succeeds too.

The problem seems to be that although the build system detects that check_max has hung, and therefore uses default values instead, the check_max program stays running; MacPorts seems to wait for it to exit, because killing it in Activity Monitor allows the build phase to end normally. I reported this to the developer.
