Error from updating.

Not sure what information you require but I tried to update and below this is the print out. I followed the instruction to update the perl5 and reran th outpdate command.

What version of MacPorts are you running? Did you recently selfupdate and/or sync the ports tree using port selfupdate and port sync?

Upgrade perl5.8 before upgrading perl5.12 to avoid this error.

In my case, I got this error when trying to perform a "update outdated". The perl5.8 upgrade did not solve it alone. I got it working by following the solution in ​https://trac.macports.org/ticket/31314
