'port upgrade outdated' returns Image error: setuptools-06c11-py2.4.egg-info already exists...

Description
...and does not belong to a registered port. Unable to activate port py24-distribute.
This happened to me during the 'upgrade outdated'-Command with macports. Does anybody know a solution besides completely uninstalling macports and re-installing it? Log is attached.

Force the activation.
sudo port -f activate py24-distribute
It would be interesting to know however why the file already existed on your system if it did not belong to a port. It should have belonged to the old py-setuptools port.
