Description
Macports it is the system of packages for setting of the open sources programs, their compiling and update from a command line. In other words the programs of linux and bsd become accessible. It is known as a system for setting of software, expandable in source codes, for the operating system of Mac OS X. Macports plugs in itself both appendixes with a command interface and programs with a graphic man-machine interface (X11 or Aqua).
Macports spreads under the license of BSD and has a command man-machine interface. Presently the system counts more than 6000 ports of software. You could find more information on macports in papers done by our competent writers. For the successful use of Macports in the operating system must be set X11 and Xcode. During setting of Macports software automatically finds and sets additional software which the current setting depends from.
There are two methods to set Macports: to image.dmg or just compile by your own. As compiling directly under your machine is preferable – I would like to be stopped exactly on this variant. First you will need Xcode Tools, exactly there is necessary to us gcc compiler in it and other great stuff. After their setting we pass directly to installation of Macports. Then start Terminal and execute the commands, edit the file, save it and restart Terminal. After that you just enter: sudo port -v selfupdate Now you can test the work of macports, installing wget.

I am not certain what this ticket is for, but we use this issue tracker for bug reports and enhancement requests regarding the MacPorts software, ports, and infrastructure, and this ticket is none of those. If you have something you would like to discuss with us about MacPorts, the macports-users mailing list is the best place to do that.
