Please find attached four portfiles for building apel,flim,semi and wanderlust.

Fetching from distfiles is extremely preferred to fetching from git. If no distfiles are available and you have no choice but to fetch from git, then you must specify a specific branch or revision.

Instead of overwriting build.cmd just to add arguments, I recommend setting or appending to build.args; this should also help you avoid repeating yourself in the emacs_app variants.

The right versions of apel, flim, and semi are required to install wanderlust. There was a lull in the development of these wanderlust as well as these packages. However, now development has picked up and is happening on github. The distfiles are very old and outdated, and the git version has a number of significant bug-fixes. However, as far as I know there is no release yet. Hence the dependence on git. How do I specify a branch or revision in a Portfile. I am rather new to Portfiles.

Has anything happened with this in the last three months? I'd really love a working Wanderlust port...

at this point wouldn't it just make more sense to tell users to install these via MELPA or whatever? That's why the magit port got obsoleted...
