Error installing glib2 on a G5 xserver OS X 10.5.8

I am very new to using port and I am trying to install glib2 and keep getting the following error:

Hardware = G5 Xserver OS = OS X 10.5.8 Software = MacPorts base 2.0.3 PPC

Error: Status 1 encountered during processing.
