Description
"the scite software does not use autoconf or cmake or Xcode or any other standard configuration system, so it does not support the build_arch setting of macports.conf out of the box, and nobody has modified the Portfile to retrofit this ability. "
can somebody help fix this issue to allow scite to support universal?

The portfile already makes some effort to support universal, but according to #28243 it's not working. Is that the error you see as well?
What the portfile makes no effort to do yet is to support build_arch.
