Description
As described in http: comments.gmane.org/gmane.os.apple.macports.user/26112 the GUI Porticus provided a feature where you got a list of all the ports that had become available since the last selfupdate. This feature made it quite easy to spot new interesting software.
Would be nice if the ports command-line provided something similar

Yes, but that includes any changes to the portfiles. It would be nice to distill the changes down to just a list of new ports.

port -v selfupdate
orport -d selfupdate
.
