I just tried this (sorry for the late response) and it worked for me
---> Fetching archive for libusb ---> Attempting to fetch libusb-1.0.8_0.darwin_11.x86_64.tbz2 from http://packages.macports.org/libusb ---> Fetching libusb ---> Attempting to fetch libusb-1.0.8.tar.bz2 from http://voxel.dl.sourceforge.net/libusb ---> Verifying checksum(s) for libusb ---> Extracting libusb ---> Configuring libusb ---> Building libusb ---> Staging libusb into destroot ---> Installing libusb @1.0.8_0 ---> Activating libusb @1.0.8_0 ---> Cleaning libusb
Perhaps this is a temporary error and it went away?

Well, all that tells us is that the server voxel.dl.sourceforge.net is not the problem. Who knows what server it tried to download from on your original attempt.

Repos for libusb
have changed. There are incoming patches that fix this.

And what is in the HTML files that were downloaded? What server was it trying to download from? Did you read the MisbehavingServers page?
