Sounds like a crash. Is there a crash log for it in /Library/Logs/CrashReporter?

Yes, I've attached. Thanks for the quick action.

That is not a crash log for mysql; that is a crash log for "/Library/Application Support/BOINC Data/projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/wcg_c4cw_lmps_6.42_x86_64-apple-darwin", whatever that is.

Sorry to waste your time. That's the only file in /Library/Logs/CrashReporter. FYI, Boinc is a science community share-the-workload program to work on protein folding, malaria, etc.

Maybe in ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter instead of /Library/Logs/CrashReporter?

I went searching and found the answer on mysql's bugzilla. See bug number 60660. It's a very long dialogue so I won't try to condense it.

Are you sure MySQL Bug 60660 is the one you meant to refer me to? I don't see anything there related to the problem we've been discussing here. Here, we are discussing a MySQL crash; there, a user is wildly flailing about trying to upgrade an old beta MySQL installation.

What did you do to resolve your situation?
