Description
Installed MacPorts to essentially get the latest version of Kate ( 4.8.1 ). She installed without a hitch but there is one problem, in the preferences there are no listed plugins or extensions. In my installation I can find the directory with the plugins but Kate seemingly cannot - this means that I cannot use the tabify, file browser or the konsole plugin.

Replying to nicos@…:
I do not see to be able to reproduce the problem, as plugins and extensions are properly accessible in my experience. A debug log could be helpful to tackle the issue (install kate with the +debug variant, and look at the console output when searching for plugins).
This is a wild guess, but perhaps rebuilding the configuration cache could solve the issue, by running

Nicos, your wild guess worked perfectly. Thank you so much!
