mysql55-server ignores my.cnf

Port: | mysql55-server |
Description
To the best that I can tell, mysql55-server doesn't read a my.cnf file at /opt/local/etc/mysql55
Defining a pid file in my.cnf doesn't work - it creates its own pid file.
It doesn't create a socket file despite being defined in the my.cnf file which causes other problems like PHP not being able to connect to the database.

In my use of the mysql55 and mysql55-server ports the /opt/local/etc/mysql55/my.cnf file is read and my socket file is created where I specified.
Do you have other mysql based ports installed?
Is there a mysqld at /opt/local/libexec/mysqld?
After loading mysql55-server what does ps show?
$ sudo port load mysql55-server $ ps ax | grep mysql

Please close this ticket. It was an issue with our Windows server assigning my computer an incorrect hostname.
