#34409 closed defect (worksforme)

xorg-libxcb: Package requirements (xcb-proto >= 1.7) were not met

Reported by: tonygon@… Owned by: jeremyhu (Jeremy Huddleston Sequoia)
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 2.0.4
Keywords: Cc:
Port: xorg-libxcb

Description

I'm new at Mac and I'm trying to install P/S, got this error.

--->  Configuring xorg-libxcb
Error: Target org.macports.configure returned: configure failure: shell command failed (see log for details)
Error: Failed to install xorg-libxcb

Log attached. I really don't know if it is related to the error, but I tried changing the python version from 25 to 27 and re-installing, didn't work.

Thanks for your help.

Resolution: worksforme
Status: newclosed
122	:info:configure checking for XCBPROTO... no
123	:info:configure configure: error: Package requirements (xcb-proto >= 1.7) were not met:
124	:info:configure
125	:info:configure Requested 'xcb-proto >= 1.7' but version of XCB Proto is 1.6
126	:info:configure
127	:info:configure Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
128	:info:configure installed software in a non-standard prefix.
129	:info:configure
130	:info:configure Alternatively, you may set the environment variables XCBPROTO_CFLAGS
131	:info:configure and XCBPROTO_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
132	:info:configure See the pkg-config man page for more details.

xorg-xcb-proto is version 1.7.1, and xorg-libxcb depends on it...

Thank you guys. I'll update that xcb-proto thingy and try again.

I think this might be due to the circular dependency caused by python biting us again...
